A start made on the tree -  "she who must be obayed" nicked a section of tree wire and has made me a figure to go with the model - not sure about the scale??
Next job is to add filler to the tree trunk ad branches then some foliage.

Your comment about "branching out" got me thinking.
I am doing more trunk work  --  the elephants trunk from the last model -- the tree trunks from this model -- and finally some rich peoples travelling trunks when I do the Titanic model for Joe.
That should give you a whole new topic to make jokes about !!!!!

Well small foam blocks placed to check for size and look.
Other 4 photos show the tree with base coat and first coat of paint  then with rubberised horse hair for branches and finally with dryed green tea leaves added for leaves.

Trees fitted and some undergrowth added to cover the join between the ground and the backdrop.

Where do you buy rubberized horse hair from? My Daughters horse is definitely not made out of rubber, but 1 ton of flesh and bone..............................................

Well Kiteman I dont know about my "natural side" but the buildings are now well on the way.
The sides have thin strips of plastic and the roof has glasspaper tiles. Individual planks are picked out with different colours and when they are dry -- a coat of pledge and then some washes to blend in the colours and tone them down a little.

Doors will be placed slightly open so the area behing them is painted black.
The doors are single sections of plastic scored to show planks and then sections added to give strength.
