I think you've created another genre.

Chimney nearing completion, just down spouts to add.
Then it will be onto the interior and the beam engine.

Have a look at this  website and videos, lots of great scratch building and other stuff, even some thoughts about what to do with completed  models.

Here is the Airfix beam engine.
Built, but nothing glued as yet, painting next and possibly some improvements.

It's all looking rather excellent. Your brickwork looks fantastic.

Will it sort of work or just a static model?

I am hoping to get it to work, only time will tell.
I have a suitable motor.

Well built and painted, fine details still to paint, it works, now onto motorising it.

Motorised
Click on the above, it should work, if you then press the play icon. Or just cluck on the picture.

Two things Zak - great to see it moving but sounds like you have a bearing on the way out - hohohohho
Second thing i followed your instructions and CLUCKED on the picture, I clucked like all the chickens I have heard but it did nothing - hohoho - think you hit the U key next to the I key - hohohohooh or even cluckcluckcluck - I know I will pay for this on Wed evening.

Many beam engines had a walkway around the beam to allow for oiling and maintenance.
This is from card, straws and wire, a bit of tweaking is still needed. It will have to be removeable so I can get to the working parts.

I am not sure how much will be visible with the building on top?
