Got this because I needed something with not many parts for a quick build
to test some paints.
So the hull is built and water-lined, I'll probably be chucking away more plastic
than I keep.

I seem to remember some adverse comments regarding underwater vehicles in the past.

A very interesting vessel. I look forward to progress on this one.

Hi Haddock,
Glad to see you have decided to join the 'underwater gang'
You see we are not 'all bad'.
I look forward to seeing this build in the hands of a master.
Cheers,
Bigkev
I hope my next is always better

Don't know what one of them is!!

Some paint sloshed on. H.B. would have you paint the deck dark sea grey, same as the rest of the dark colour.
I thought it would be more realistic to make it look as though the wood deck were covered in a dark stain which became common practice after the outbreak of WW2.
Just some railings and bits and bobs to go on. Don't think I'll use the kit brass, there's no bottom run on the railings so each stanchion will need to be glued individually, bad idea.
Just out of interest, there's a cutaway drawing which explains how it all works. You should be able to blow it up to read the legends.

The M1 was the British equivalent to the Surcouf and had a 12 inch gun, her sister subs converted into a seaplane carrier for the M2 and a minelayer for the M3

A submarine with a seaplane. Looks interesting.

We live and learn, thanks for that.

This is a really interesting subject.  Looking forward to seeing the work in progress.

That's interesting, looks like they couldn't decide on a ship or submarine so put the two together.
