Remarkable painting again. I love the paintwork on the horse, it gives it depth and life.

The missing Foot! :- Normally one of the first tasks on  metal figure is to pin
through the feet/legs to provide a positive fixing when fixing to the base.
For some reason this didn't happen this time and I just located a handle in
in the nether regions. Eventually sense prevailed and I got round to it last week.
It is never a good Idea to take a Dremel to a painted model!
Anyway, as I drilled in I thought that looks a bit shaky, so I stopped and let it relax,
tried the depth and thought " just a bit more", as you do! Soooo.. as this was progressing the leg,
foot and drill parted company!
I heard something strike the glass of the picture a couple of feet above my head and fly off at about 6000rpm.
As is my want in such circumstances, I sat in quiet contemplation and equilibrium whilst the absolutely shocking language died down!
That could have gone ANYWHERE, so ,in anticipation of a long painful search, I put most of the gear away and went for coffee.
I managed to talk my wife into helping search ( on promise of a new pair of shoes!)
As I was starting to search, my Wife went into the Bathroom, (as they do), whereupon there was a cry "Is this it?"
And there it was! Sitting on the bathroom floor !It had bounced off the wall, behind me, through the bedroom door
and into the bathroom, about a total of 6/7 ft..
Lucky or what?.... But then :-
]THERE'S NO CARPET MONSTER IN THERE!

You lucky devil you - and no harm to man nor beast - hohohho

Your a lucky man.
If this had happened to me, I would have found it at 3 o'clock in the morning whilst going for a 'jimmy'. OUCH!!!  :'(

Hi Howard,
At least you found it (Positive),
Cost you a pair of shoes (Negative)
But a great looking model thus far, despite the excitement.

Here goes for a few pics and update, boring stuff first:
Horse:            most of it is done, mainly awaiting stickers froom daughter
then tidying up, dirty/ weather bottom of caparison, reins etc and put rider on back!
Templar:         pretty much same as horse, dirty cloak, scratch lance is made but not painted
shield looks to be a bit white!!!, will probably tone down a bit and weather, Sticker required,
will see if have got a couple of arrows to stick in it
Base thoughts: It's a bit chunky! It could do to be only half the thickness really, but nothing I can do about that.
May well have to get a bit creative with the Horse base as it doesn't seem to want
to fit on the rest of it. Tomorrow's job!
Saracen:         The pics you see here I would normally have declared finished, as painting, just the
bits to be stuck on. But I have had a go at patterns. I learnt something.....my limitations
I have had a couple of goes since the last pic..... both got washed of halfway through, didn't waste
time with pics. Have had another go today, simpler,....but it diid not go well, far from it! Anyway,
It's in the airing cupboard but I'm not happy with it....we'll see?

zak

It all looks really good to me.

Looking excellent Howard.

MSea

How do you do it so well Howard.

kiwichappers

I'm mightily impressed Howard. The face of the Saracen is amazing. I've had it up to nearly life size on my screen and it looks like a photograph of a living and breathing Saracen.

Bigkev

I agree with Kiwichappers,

How you manage the facial expressions so vividly is beyond me.....
cheers,
Bigkev
I hope my next is always better
