Phenomenal work Dave. Scrolling through this lot has bowled me over and occupied the last couple of hours very pleasantly thank you. I love the airfield maintenance kit used during the war and could be easily tempted to model many of them.

Bigkev

We all could learn a lot from Zak,
He takes an idea, and makes it into a superb model.
Nothing but respect.

Many thanks Francis, It has kept me almost out of mischief and trouble.
I was amazed just how much infrastructure was required to get a plane off the ground.
There is still plenty left to do, if I can sustain my enthusiasm.

I've just spent over half an hour following this from the first post to now and like Francis I'm overawed. Phenomenal work Dave. Glad I work in 1/72 so I can get away with a lot more. I don't have much room for dioramas (as in Tracy says I take up too much room!!) but do my best.
Are you charging Neil for all the work you've done?

If only, it is for personal satisfaction and pleasure.

Hi Zak,
All of your builds on this thread have been awesome.
Cheers,

I am awaiting a delivery of some figures to go in my searchlight pit. It has been 8 days since they were sent, but nothing has arrived yet, I did order some peas online and they arrived yesterday.
I have contacted the sender, but am in limbo.
So on with the searchlights.
I will not post pictures of the build as you will have got the idea of the techniques used so far, it will be just more of the same.
I am also going to scratch build a Thornycroft ZS/TC4 4x2 searchlight carrying truck as well.
I intend to make two searchlights, one for the pit and one for the truck to be unloading.

SELF INDULGENT.

Sorry, in a moment of idleness, yes I know, I thought I would set up a diorama, well here is the result.
Motor Transport for an Airfield.
I have even included one of those things with wings for you aircraft types!

More self indulgence - sorry.

I can live with this sort of self indulgence!

Brilliant! Love it!!!
Dioramas really bring the models to life.

I've got my boxes of (1/48) pilots and ground crew figures 'out of storage' and am looking at making them up and matching them up to diorama scenarios.

Dave, you're Mr Motivator!

Absolutely brilliant.
You've raised the bar with this one.
Looking forward to seeing it in the flesh.
Andy.
