Looks like you've been very busy whilst I've been away. Looking forward to seeing the finished results up close.

Thanks chaps,
Today I have managed to paint the seat harnesses using a 20/0 brush and a steady hand.
The aim was to give an impression of seat buckles and fastenings.
The fuselage has had the nose and tail parts on the port side glued in place, and a test fit of the centre section to see what other work needs to be done.
Thanks for looking:-

As I've said before Kevin - great detail.

A bit more progress.
I have sprayed the cockpits with a Matt varnish to tone down the Kleer, and also to seal in the decals and belts.
Then I installed both cockpits into each of the Me262's and joined the fuselages together. The B-2 had the centre section added in place taking care to match the fuselage contours as best as I could. On the B-1 I added the wings too, and used Tamiya tape to help everything in place whilst the glue dries.
The B-2 wing section need an additional fillet adding so I did this from plasticard, and once dry shaped it to match the kit part.
Although not glued in place I did a dry fit to see how it fitted into the extended fuselage and was pleased to see it was pretty good. Some filling will be needed and the forward wing fairing needs making from Milliput and carved to shape.

A bit more progress.
Both airframes have had some putty applied to the wing joints and fuselage extensions on the B-2.
Once dry, I used various grades of wet and dry, used wet with plenty of soap as a lubricant. Happy to see nearly all the joins came out okay, with just a touch of filler needed in a couple of places. On the B-2, I will be using Milliput to make the wing leading edge fairings.

Hi All,
Well I have done the wing fillets on the leading edge of the B-2. However I got a little too enthusiastic when rubbing down and the starboard upper wing had a little ding in the surface, so out with Mr. Hobby putty again. Following another sanding session I carefully managed to restore the wing surface. At this point I cut the canopy at the rear which forms part of the fuselage, and added it to the fuselage using it as a point to attach an extension to the cockpit rear from Plasticard. Once dry this can be shaped to match the canopy shape. Also added the tailplanes, Rudder, Fuel tank pylons.

With the B-1 version, I have used a resin exposed engine. But when looking at it carefully the exhaust cone on the resin part protruded much too far for my liking. So I cut off the tip of the cone and then drilled out the rear of the engine pod. Then using the unused cone from the kit, I cut it to size and then superglued it in place. Much happier with result, both match quite well now.

Looks like painstaking work, a credit to your skill.

Thanks Dave,
Probably not as painstaking as your modelling, but bit by bit, I'm getting there.

Hi All,
Now got the B-2 rear cockpit extension shaped and filled. Next up will be an undercoat with Mr. Surfacer.
All the other smaller bits have been prepared and will also be undercoated at the same time.

Hi All,
Now duly undercoated and ready for some colour. As you can see the B-2 variant now looks decidedly 'longer' than the standard B-1 version.
Decisions on schemes is my next task.
