Chips, peas and onion rings with mine please.

On with the model - the 3 sections ( it looked much to large with 4 sections ) have been glued and clamped and then "dovetail nailed " together. Rough shaping has started and a couple of small holes filled with filler.
When the model is finished it will be given to Harry and Ted to remind them of their trips "up north to Yorkshire" from "down south"

On with the deck - a piece of thin plastic scored to make the deck planks and then fastened to the wooded hull.
The strange concoction is not what I am about to drink but a test on a bit that will be the sails. If it works well it should look the part

Deck trimmed and a start made on the gunwale.

Gunwale finished and ready to drill for the mast and bowsprite. Then on with the cabin, coffins of earth and a large dog to keep pen-pusher happy.
The sail is not so good but my friend ( yes Zak I have friends ) says its a synthetic material and she has some natural cotton with a very similar weave that will be better.

Hull drilled for brass rod with plastic tube over this - now to file down the plastic to make them into masts and bowsprite.

Haddock

Flippin' 'eck, that was quick, are you any relation to Zak or do you just eat the same stuff?
Haddock.

AFTER 20 YEARS AT SEA - I EAT ANYTHING ON MY PLATE UNLESS ITS MOVING - THEN YOU STUN IT WITH YOUR SPOON AND THEN EAT IT. DOES THAT HELP????

Back to the Demeter - small wood block made for the cabin and started to add thin plastic that has been grooved to show the planks.
MSea

zak

Is that Draculas bed?

No Zak its for the next model "Goldilockszak and the three bears" - I joke ( well its an idea so you never know)
The curved top will be fitted when the sides are smoothed down to the block of wood.
The crew have been primed and ready for painting.

Looks like they have all had a stake through the heart. Forward planning I guess?

No Zak the last one has his stake through his foot - but they have ALL been drained of blood - hence the white skin.

Pen-Pusher

By coincidence!

Coming to a nightmare near you soon...

MSea

First coat of brown on the deck and cabin
