More useless trivia from yours truly.

As most people know of my passion for all things 'Rorkes Drift' and being an avid collector of the original 'gloss painted' toy soldiers by Britains I am always keen to recreate certain events as they were and NOT as often portrayed in film, on canvass or in books. One such incident is depicted in the famous painting by Alphonse de Neuville where, on the right hand side, John Chard (wrongly depicted wearing pale breeches) is being handed a cartridge by a fallen comrade. This incident is well recorded but instead of being a member of the 24th, Corporal William Allen was actually in the Natal Native Contingent. To recreate this, I procured two white 54mm metal kits and painted them in their correct uniforms (and in the style of the original Britains soldiers) using Humbrol gloss enamels. Hope you like?
