Matchbox 1:24 Austin Healey 100-6
« on: November 25, 2013, 03:13:32 PM »
Bought this in the flea market in Pickering for £3.00 - real bargain I thought. As far as I could see only the gear stick was missing.
Lots of cleaning up and badly fitting parts, but hey - it is a British sports car, so what do you want?
All went well, but towards the final assembly I had to do some major surgery and then some repainting and so on.
I used the chrome parts as supplied, I think I should have stripped and then repainted them.
Well here is the final car, warts and all.
It did nearly end up in the bin, but I did persevere.
Thinking about it, it may have been 1:25?
Doesn't anyone else do any modelling??????????

Dave

You've done a grand job on that Healey Dave, I remember when they were frequently on our roads along with the MGB, the E type Jag and my favourite the Triumph Stag. I am still modelling, doing my own models and, when I can work up the enthusiasm, my lad's model railway, its been going longer than my Lancer!!!

I hope you are counting Dave, they are all coming out of the woodwork with their posting now!!! There is someone missing though, I think we should start something up along the lines of 'Wheres Wally' but substitute Kev for Wally.

Hi Bridlufc,
I'll give you 'Wally'. If you must know I am modelling away diligently, but have not been able to use my computer to post due to the unbelievable British Telecom once again who very kindly severed my Broadband automatically on 14th November, but have been unable to automatically reconnect me until last night. Only 13 days, six phone calls to India, and about 4 and a half hours on the line, so probably a bit quicker than last time, but still not fully as it was, and I am waiting for them to call me back (Again!!) today, but am not holding my breath.
Fear not  'Wally' will be posting again, providing BT can manage to rectify my remaining issue, between now and me dying!!
Bigkev alias 'Wallyeeeeee'
I hope my next is always better
