Here we go for 2025. Thought I'd start with a challenging kit to get it out of the way early this year. At the end of day one the fuselage has been closed up, the wing and undercarriage fairing assembled. There is now the problem of sorting a puzzling array of quite crude struts which bear only a passing resemblance to those shown on supremely vague instructions.

Roll on 2026 and maybe a simpler model to start that year Francis hohohho

You'll overcome it Francis.

Day 3hree has been an engineering and cowling day. A lot of trimming of the cylinder heads to take account of the thickness of the cowling and guess what, very little of the engine shows.

Is this a Fokker D.VIII Francis?
What make?
I hope my next is always better

Got it in one Kev, it's a Fokker D.VIII by the Czech company Flashback. The kit came as part of a collection I was given some years ago. As nobody I know has ever wanted to take it of my hands I've decided to give it a go as it looked to be a simple, quick build to open 2025. With hindsight I'm not sure how clever that idea has been.
