1/35 Amphibious Vehicles

I am easily sidetracked and came across this and started to remember the models I build quite a few years ago of the 1982 Falklands War.
I then concentrated on British Forces and built mainly 1:700 ships and some 1:72 aircraft.
The Argentines used 20 of these US built vehicles for use on the Falklands after the initial landing.
Not all of them participated and some broke down.
One was a command vehicle and one a recovery vehicle, the others were the standard LVPT -7A1 variety.

I will have to make my own decals - hopefully.
They were initially painted in Olive Green and later on returning to Argentina in other schemes.
My research turned up 1:35 models by Tamiya, Academy and Hobbyboss.

The plastic in the Academy kit is quite brittle, whether this is normal or due to age I do not know.
Assembly was straight forward and the model was undercoated in grey and then given a coat of Tamiya Olive Green.

The details are now being picked out.

It has taken about 4 hours to get to this stage.

Homemade decals applied and a some weathering, a coat or two of varnish still needed.
Before anyone comments, the decals are not quite right, but they will have to do.

At least, the next one is also an amphibious vehicle used in the ladings on the Falklands.

This is it at the moment.

More progress, some weathering, still need to install glazing and add a few details.

I built this and hand painted it, not amphibious, but the Argentines used some Mercedes G Class types when invading the Falklands.
This is a from Revell and is a Lkw gl leicht "Wolf".
Used by many armed forces, this is finished as a Bundeswehr one.

Just some light weathering needed.
