Hi all, very impressed with Kevs house build, I bet it wasn't as easy as it looks making everything to scale.

Memories of model railway days.
Strange scale 1:50?
Near enough to 1:48 if you wanted to include figures.
It does look good though.

This topic set me thinking and I just had to visit my archive ( well it is a box where I keep all my old photos).
I built a few houses for people in the dim and distant past.
Here is one.The house is on Marton Road in Bridlington.
As far as I can remember the construction was mostly plastc card with other bits and pieces, the scale was 4mm to a foot.
Hope this may amuse some of you.
The photos may not be brilliant as I had to scan them in. Yes, ok it was built before the age of digital photography. I even think that I got paid!!!!
The first photo is the actual house.
I even built a glass case to house it.

The Citroen was an old Matchbox one that was just the right scale - I think it was one of my sons!!!!

Hi All,

Thanks for the nice comments about the house build. It was a fun project though at times a little frustration crept in. I learnt a lot, but now looking at Dave's model house makes me feel, I've  still got a very long way to go, to reach anything like his standards.

As to the scale, it was built to 1:50 only out of laziness, being easier to convert measurements from the metric sizes I was given of the real thing.

Now i'd better finish that airliner...................................

I hope my next is always better
