Vietnam UH-1D Huey
« on: January 25, 2022, 02:36:47 PM »
This I began at the latest playday. The intention is to motorise this and display it in a diorama - a hot LZ or PZ.
The motor should just about fit inside the fuselage. The difficult bit will be getting the shaft to run true. The motor is 1.5v with a four stage reduction giving 23rpm. I think I may run it at 3v.

A little progress here. Main cockpit area built. Holes prepared ready to accept the motor. Just got to make a cllar to connect the motor with the rotor. The crew figures are CMK. Needs a crew as it is supposed to be flying.

Very nice.
Those figures look good and will add to the realism.
Cheers,

Slow progress with this one. Cockpit complete with pilots. Next up is the motor assembly and to see if I can get it to run true. Must not forget to drill holes in the fuselage for the wires for the motor.

Motor mounted behind the cabin. Holes and channels made on the underside of the skids for the wires. Now just got to put it all together.

Had a bit of a disaster yesterday. In putting some heat shrink on the wire connections I was a bit close to the cabin assembly and hence deformed a bit of the cabin interior. Oh well. A of remedial action is required as can be seen at the rear of the internal cabin. Cabin now mounted in one half of the fuselage. Next to put the fuselage halves together with the associated wiring.
