The zombies are out again
« on: May 31, 2020, 02:01:49 PM »
Decided after looking through the built stash this was redundant, so will remove the gun and  gun compartment and make an open box with some armament from the MinArt set of machine guns I got from Mighty Lancer last time he was open ( that seems about 3 years ago )
This will be another UAZA machine with lots of zombies ( just to keep Chris happy) and buildings and rubbish around - so on with the scratch building

Is that an ISU 120/122? Gun doesn't look chunky enough for a 152. But it's been a while since I researched Russian armour.

Yes Chris it was the Dragon JSU-122 tank destroyer. I still have the Italeri ISU-152 to put into a Berlin scene.
The photo shows the gun removed - did this by chain drilling so I could do it in the garden because "she who must be obeyed" was out reading and we could then chat while I was doing the model.

How cruel you are Chris - saying my models are rubbish - hohohohho.. If you don't put things in the diorama they look very clinical and bare.

Templates made for the open box  and then made from 1.5mm acrylic - now to sort out the position of the drivers window ( zombies don't fire guns so it can be like a large car window to give the driver a clear view of the road ) and just to keep Chris happy will smear the front and window with blood splatter and have a windscreen wiper to give the driver a section to look out of.

Yes I must get around to having a go at a diorama - working on an idea. Don't hold your breath though.

Box put together - now to clean up the outside and make a seat for the driver and bits and bobs inside the box such as radios ammunition etc.

I still wonder where the ideas come from, your zombie world must be a strange place.

Seat for the driver made, just needs a stand for it to sit on. The drivers window and frame have now also been made.
Decided that the building in the background would be a row of single level shut up shops, covered with graffiti, so roller doors and wood covered windows now how do you make them ????.

The box made for the row of shops, the front of the shops will be made from acrylic strip to give different depths.
Now who's name shall I put on the front as graffiti
