I've always had an interest in the V2 rocket and have built a few over the years. Sadly, not many kits are available these days and two 'promised' issues last year didn't materialize. These are condor kits I built a few years back and in my stash are a few more, including the proposed winged and manned versions... Now it's a long time since i built one and as you can see, there is ample choice of colour schemes for either German or post-war test rockets.

Condor's kit comes in either a light grey or dark grey plastic. Nice mouldings throughout, also nice fitting and flash free which makes this a 'simple build' project - but rewarding nonetheless.

These are from my collection but as I said earlier, they were built some time ago.

There is now a nice one in 1/35 with the launch trailer and a Hanomag tractor - can't remember who it is by? (IBG?) I will endeavour to find out.

That would be one big kit, but an impressive one set in a diorama.

Remember the old Revell 'Classics Line'..? These were a limited re-issue of select model kits in 2002 from moulds of the 1950's through to the 70's. In order to ensure these resembled the original product as closely as possible, the packaging was made true-to-style using the previous original illustration as well as original decals. The construction manual in multiple languages contains detailed assembly instructions.

The 1/69 V.2 kit (Photos) was produced using the original (Aurora) manufactured more than 30 or 40 years ago. Containing the rocket, complete engine detail, trailer and launch pad, this made up to a nice kit if you could work around some imperfections (formation of burrs or slight warping)  attributed to the fact the mould had not been used for a long period of time.

The difference between 1/69 and 1/72 may not seem much at first glance but seen together the former is substantially larger.

To add transport trailer and other launch accessories you have to go to some of the more specialist companies now and there is a 'cost' involved?
