Well waiting for other things to dry -- so will move over to the light side ( sorry Haddock ) and make a plane. It will be for the competition "less than £20".
Yet again the idea comes from a picture - the photo of the Beagle on display in a run down state, with the plexiglass yellowed and the front glass sections still clear got me thinking ( I will try not to do this very much, as it will damage what is inside my head. ) I will lower the front and one side wheel as if the hydraulic system had been damaged through age ( sounds like most of our group ) and heavily weather the plane.

I do like these cold war aircraft and vehicles.  Like Kiteman and Councilman, I spent many a long dreary hour learning how to recognise them from different angles and at different distances and decide whether to fill 'em full of lead or not. 

Do you "fill them full of lead" so they are not tail sitters ??

If that was a serious question, the answer is NO. I was talking about us old soldiers doing our aircraft and vehicle recognition.  We had to learn the key tanks, APCs, helicopters and airplanes that NATO and the Warsaw Pact forces would be likely to use - so we could identify them as enemy or friendly and thus know whether to shoot them or not.  Or as the Americans would say, shoot them anyway!!!  So, slack track, 5 road wheels, large gap between 3rd/4th and 4th/5th road wheels, dome shaped turret with curved handrails, main gun with fume extractor 1/3 way down the barrel, large IR searchlight to right of main gun, low hull with sloping front and straight splash plate, spare fuel drums at back of hull would tell you it was a T62.  If it was covered in leaves and branches, being able recall these characteristics would hopefully give you enough visible clues to identify it from a Leopard or Chieftain.

Bet you can't tell what half my models are supposed to be !!!!

A few bits stuck together and now the job starts to get them smooth and clean and later to make them all rusty and mucky and disgusting ( sound good fun to me. )

The only right side Kiteman is ships  - ho ho ho.
Because I am a " ham fisted"  type of modeler and knock things off the bench - i have learnt to drill out those stupid little plastic pips that are the size of pin head and replace them with good solid brass bar , to give strength when fastening tail plane and wings into place.

Because the plane will be distressed I have reduced the hydraulic  and also made the wheels flat. The wheel has been stuck onto flat plastic and filler added to make the flat bulged out tyre.
