Coming along very well.  I do like the weathering too.  It looks very "ship mucky".

Haddock

Remember me?
Progress is very slow, I seem to be plagued with disruptions and delays, however I've managed to get some more brass on, masts and a bit of rigging.

Congratulations to Terry on his forthcoming event and welcome to our new member from Germany.

Nice to see you are still managing to stick the odd bit together.
It is coming along nicely.

What I really enjoy about the pictures of Haddock's ships is that somehow, they transport you onto the decks.  They certainly don't look like models so compliments on the keen eye and steady hand - however long it takes you it's always worth the wait!

Haddock

Thank you kind sir. Don't forget to take the clamps to Germany when you go.

They say simple things please simple minds. Surprising how a few bits of string make the model look more seaman-like and busy. Must admit, I'm pleased with the pulley system that operates the boat handling derrick, didn't think I could pull it off to start with. Simple mind!

It astounds me how your little fingers manage all these details.
Great stuff.

Super stuff! What did you use for the rigging? EZLine??

Haddock

EZ line and Boyes invisible mending thread.(it's just like a monofilament fishing line )

Boyes is a shop that sells almost everything, branches dotted around most of Yorkshire. The mending thread is " smoke "coloured , 0.1 dia. You get miles of the stuff on a cotton reel for about £2, I bought a reel about 8 years ago and used it on every bi-plane and ship I've done, still got loads left. There's a Boyes in Driffield!!
We could get you some just in case they are closed when you come.

Last of the rigging for a while, gaff with topping lift and braces.

Next job is ships boats.I lost one of the hulls although I'm convinced it was missing from the box to start with so I've had to scratch-build one with card and Milliput ( the white one ). they all sit on brass cradles which are a mile out. I'll have to cobble up something simple to mount 'em.
