Yes, many thanks Martin.  As I say, inspiration has struck again so I may just pick up some girders in the near future.

Briggs and Powell is one of the few remaining shops in Beverley that was in business when I were a lad and for goodness knows how long before that too.  It's a real shop with real stuff sold by real people.  You'll find it just opposite the Market Cross on the other side of the road from where Akrill's  gun shop used to be.

Kiteman

This is all terrific stuff......love it!

msea

Decided to make some window grills - seen them on another model and liked them. Made a jig and superglued them together. If I did them again I think I would use the jig but solder them to give added strength - one came apart as I was fitting it to the window, also I would use thinner brass bar.

Agreed.  They really do set it off a treat.  Will all the windows be done?  There's an awful lot of them but it will be worth the work.

Well this is the main door and the side gate made, next job is to dirty them up and also to rust the girders.

Nice work Martin, very tidy.
Reminds me of my railway modelling and model building days.

I love the uneven planks too - very realistic.  Is it based on an actual building or just from your imagination?

Kiteman

very nice work...I am enjoying this project, keep it coming.

msea

Well a before and after shot of the girders, now they have been rusted up a bit - next a bit of muck  and dust on the tops when I have a spare 5 mins.
