I just thought I would take the time to thank Tony for "stepping up to the plate" last night and showing the club members what our meetings could be like if people were prepared to put in some effort and share their stories/experience.

I personally delight in hearing how other folk tackle building their kits and this really put into perspective how confusing and complex the subject matter of Tony's latest build was with the lack of any really reliable research material.

Not sure about the glamorous bit but I know what you mean.  In hindsight I could have done a better job if I'd had a dress rehearsal just to satisfy myself I wasn't going to talk a load of drivel. I was pleased with the reproduction of some of the pictures considering they were taken about 100 years ago.
Hopefully, I've inspired somebody else to have a bash.

Hopefully so Haddock.  It would be grand, after all my army years on various committees, to be part of an organisation where it's more than just a small hard core of members who put themselves forward to do the bare minimum.  It would be a real shame not to pass on experience and interests especially as we have the right environment now for our monthly meetings.  Thanks again.

I am sorry I only got to meeting at the very end. What you put on was very inspired and 'a first' for the club and I fully commend your efforts.
If you ever intend to do another, I hope work does not prevent me from being there for the whole thing.
