Back onto relatively safe ground this is the Micro Mir kit of the Blohm und Voss P.193. I find it amazing that kits are still being produced in the Ukraine. The box contains an eight page instruction booklet, three sprues of blue/grey plastic, one clear, an etch fret, decals for one option and a set of canopy masks. All being well these will also fit the Revell P.194 in my stash as the P series of aircraft had a generic cockpit section, differing only in the proposed instrumentation fit.

They put the tail on upside down... no wonder they lost.

The work on the Anson stood me in good stead when it came to applying the etch in the cockpit. Strangely there is etch for the starboard side console, see photo, but no part to fit it to and none shown in the instructions. RLM 66 was applied overall with the consoles painted black and dry brushed with Vallejo Steel. I has to re-adjust one of the nosebay wheel well sides to bring it inline with the floor but when a test closure of the fuselage was done there's  still a gap which will need filling. Weight has been added to the nose using the self adhesive weights I bought at Sword and Lance, a bargain at £1 a strip, plus old tack. One of the wing uppers didn't match up with the lower part so had to be sanded down. The instructions don't point out that you need to open up holes for the wing cannons and the radiator housings. All were duely done and I went against the instructions and fitted the radiator fronts to the wings before putting the covers over the top.

Closing the fuselage took a few attempts but I managed in the end and the canopy was then masked and fitted. The wings were fitted followed by the cannons, elevators and tail, the latter being in two halves with no line for the rudder on one side so that had to be scribed in. After a coat of primer which showed any touch-ups required a coat of Vallejo Sky Type 'S', which is a match for late war RLM 84 was sprayed on. I then attached the undercarriage having to shorten the locating stubs of the main legs.

It's a really strange looking beast. Coming along nicely.

Once dry RLM 02 was applied to the body using an acrylic pen then the upper colours using Lifecolour RLM 80 Olivgrun and Xtracrylic RLM 82 Dunklegrun were painted with some mottling also.  The propeller is Vallejo RLM 70 Schwarzgrun with the spinner Tamiya Sky Blue. I used a bomb from the Frog Arado Ar 234, which was painted Vallejo Sky Blue, as at the time I didn't fancy tryimg to bend the etch tailring. Having found the courage I've now done this so will swap the bomb at some point. The exhausts were painted Vallejo Steel then given a wash of Citadel Seraphim Sepia and when the Flory washes were applied Rust was used there. Markings are a mix of the kit decals and from stock. Once everything was to my liking a coat  of Tamiya Semi Gloss sealed everyhting and the small etch linkages on the undercarriage were put in place, the canopy masking removed and the framework tidied up. I'd replaced the engine intake with one from a Frog Me 109 as it had more detail than the kit one and had to source a DF loop as the fragile kit one broke when I tried to remove it from the sprue.
