This is a kit from Pit Road and is representative of a WW2 Airfield, although I may build mine as a museum to allow for a variety of aircraft to be on display.

The control tower is made up of 9 pieces.

Just thinking -- HOW LARGE will this when its finished 3m 4m or 5m square yoho yoho.
Jokes apart looking forward to this - will you need lots of 1/700 scale people if its a museum

I agree, and what will Howard say when it comes to painting the figures eyes.......
A truly different model, never seen one like it before.
I hope my next is always better

You could always pretend it's Elvington in November, but Duxford or Newark may be better options. An eclectic mix of aircraft so you could base it anywhere.

Undercoated in white and some railings added, looking at my photo, they need straightening, but I can hardly see them!!!!

In this scale nothing looks good on a digital photo.
Painting the control Tower.

Scratch built T2 type hangar - these could be assembled in various sizes and I believe were the most numerous of the WW2 Hangars, but I may be wrong.
Inside the hangar are some iconic WW2 RAF aircraft awaiting restoration, A Lancaster, a Mk1 Spitfire and Hurricane.

Well this is one way of getting an airfield on the table top.
I thouht you might go for a dockside to go with the ships.
