First many many thanks Andy for the model - decided that I would try and make it into a still from the film "Hunt for Red October" one of my most favourite films.
The shot I am going to try and make is the one when the American sub does an emergency crash surfacing and pops out of the water when most of the Russian crew are in the lifeboats. The comment from the Russian midshipman "Captain's scared them out of the water" always makes me smile. So it will be out with the razor saw and making a deep box to put what is left of the sub in, then how to make the water look like a large sub has just crashed through it, also to make what is left of the sub strong for just a small glue area. - heyho it will keep the little grey cells working to sort that lot out.
Or I could just make it out of the box and have it on the surface - - NO - not a cat in hells chance of that, as most of you who know me will be saying - hohohhohoh
Before anybody says this sub is not the same as in the film, yes I know, this one has the dive plane on the hull not the sail - but as normal I don't care - rivet counter do your worst.

Surely a man of your calibre can put the dive planes on the tower, it won't be that much of a bodge, sorry conversion, for you?

MSea

Having the ability and the inclination are 2 different things Chris hohohhoho

Both parts of the hull and both sections of the bow fastened together and the 3 parts of the sail fastened together and trial run.. Next clean up all the joints and a little filler.

Sorry Andy but this is what happens when you let me loose on a model unsupervised hohoho
Next job clean up the joins and then fasten it down onto the 2mm base plate.
Now what to use for the water/foam - have seen cotton wool or strips of toilet paper used but people say it yellows with age (the cotton wool not the people) any ideas  :P  :P  :P  :P
