As a student I had a holiday job driving one of these for an antique furniture moving company that was nearly the same colour as your model. Starting up always created alarm amongst the peasantry as Mack Thermodyne engines use a compressed air reservoir to turn them over and it sounds like shotgun being fired.

You amaze me Francis, such a varied and colourful life.
A touch jealous, because I am!

This is going to take a lot of paint!

Hope you have got a good stock of paint then Dave.

Yes, stocked up on yellow.
I want the outside to be clean and shiny, but if this was a working car transporter then there would be some wear and tear, oil stains and rubbing and chafing where chains and ropes had been used to secure the cars in position.
So I have dry brushed some metal and added some stains and rusting, all along the inner and upper decks.

Still awaiting the arrival of the missing tyre.
Meanwhile the top and bottom stuck together and the rear axle and wheels added.
The paint is a bit tacky, so more patience needed.

Still to add are the loading ramps, lights, decals and steps.
The truck yellow and the trailer yellow are slightly different - on purpose, but maybe I should have done them the same colours.

lights and steps added, decals next,
3 cars on the top looks unbalanced and overloaded, two would also go underneath.
The Range Rover is 1/24 not 1/25.

Looking very nice Zak.
Certainly is a beastie.
I hope my next is always better

Connectors between truck and trailer - "Suzie's" in this country I believe.
