Next model to start when I get back to working again - as well as finishing several ones under construction at the moment. Sorry Haddock but she will be done as a full hull model, museium style to show the ship shape

She was built in 1901 at the French yard la Seyne with normal French extreame tumblehome.
Damaged at the Battle of the Yellow Sea in 1904, Rear-Admiral Vitgeft killed and ship interned  at Quingdao in China. She was renamed Grashdanin in 1917 then scrapped in 1922

Hi Msea,
That looks like it will be an impressive model when done.
Hope your tickety-boo soon.
Cheers,
Kevin
I hope my next is always better

Lots of rigging to keep you occupied here. You know the standard you have to rise to, he will be watching!!!!

Don't mention the rigging - hohohho
Dry run fitting the port and stbd sides and aft and ford deck together  :) :) :)

Hull fastened together and some of the other small bits and deck ready for priming

Indeed, but oddly enough I find ships from this period interesting to look at with their 'waists' and turret placements.

A coat of brass on the stand, it will not look like this when finished.  The deck has also had its thinned coats of pale brown on the wood, next job to pick out individual planks in lighter and darker colour then finish with a flory wash.

Patience grasshopper - I will also have to fasten the rigging down with another method - I could drill holes and use brass tube BUT how would I then get my fingers inside the hull to tie them off  :-\ :-\ :-\ :-\ :-\
