It's all Greek

I have started a new project, Greek hoplites!
There are 3 75mm resin figures involved, supposedly in action formation.
It is labelled as Sparta at War, but I think it unlikely that I will do it as all Spartans,
as they were all red cloak, skirts etc.. so I may well mix it up a bit.
It is manufactured by Big Child Creatives, and the casting is excellent.
The one and only picture supplied is shown below (I hope), but the figures are available separately
and the Retailer has pics on the website.
As usual, there are no instructions, but it is mostly self explanatory.
The spear shafts are supplied as lengths of brass rod, which is helpful.

Have stuck arms, legs and body together for all three and primed.
That's as far as it can go until a lot of painting is done.
There is a lot of bronze, helmets, shields armour etc, which will tend to make it all a bit monotonous,
so I think I may need to put some variation into the colouring.
I will do the lead guy as a Spartan, and the others as "normal" hoplites.. This will allow some variation in clothing colours.
The three figures are also sculpted with differing levels of "quality" in their armour, the lead one obviously being on a more senior level.

As an aside, you will notice different colours of primer. The darker two figures are primed with Humbrol Primer £5.50,
and the lead one with a can of "Colour It" that I got from Boyes for £2  It dried (if dried is the word) semi gloss and remained
tacky for several days. It might be that I did not rattle the can well enough, but it is in the dustbin now!
The Humbrol stuff is a bit  (lot!) dark ......
