Hi Haddock,

Yes, I can see ones longer than the other, or is it because its nearer the camera?

You can call me 'Pike'

Here they are together, holding hands. Both not quite finished and need some water, these are just temporary bases so I can move 'em without touching the model.
I was considering mounting them both on the same base but I think separate bases would be more appropriate. Comments.
Just for Zak, Ringo is Wolf grey and Field blue, Susan is Ghost grey and French mirage blue!

They look more blue to me!

Kiteman

maybe a nice little diorama where they are moored up together. Romantic like.  Nice work once again!

A decision has been made. After much soul-searching, I've decided on two separate bases, both ships at sea and under-way. I'm not fond of ships in harbour and even less sat on brass pillars, you never see them like that, they only come alive when they go to sea.
If I did do some sort of a diorama, ships under way would need a huge base, any-thing less than a ships length apart is generally to be avoided. A dock-yard type diorama would involve cranes, vehicles, buildings and probably lots of people so I've chickened out.
Might do one in 1:700 scale some day. Perhaps a Battle-ship and some destroyers, lots of little boats sculling around. White Ensign do some nice little armed trawlers in resin at that scale, quite cheap too for a resin kit.

I can“t wait to se them come to life.

Now I have to make some wooden bases, as a joiner, I make a good blacksmith. Junior hacksaw and engineers file ain't the best tools for wood.

What no more aluminium bases?

Too big to go in the oven so can't bake the clay, got to use a different method, cross between Suvorov and Roberts.

zak

You'll just have to come up with a reason to buy Mrs Beesting a new oven.

What about holding Our Christmas bash at 'Haddock's'?

A new oven to cope with us lot would be ideal............................
