I think you'll be right Bob.

We might as well save all the effort and just set up a Standing Order for him, as every one's a winner!!! (Good title for a song that!!)

Red Lancer

Thank you for the comments, however it certainly will not win anything this year as I don't
see it being finished by then. And, anyroad up, there are many people far more deserving than me!
I had a go at some of the armour yesterday, it took ages to do not much!
Hopefully, I will put some pic sup during next week.

Hi H,
Always impressed by your painting skills and attention to detail.
Look forward to the next 'How I' did it post. Always a lot to learn, from the master of figures in the club.
Cheers,
Bigkev
I hope my next is always better

A photo of the RedSam armour. All the bobbly and green bits need to be painted gold.
However,.as it stands at the moment I am not at all happy with it. I think I got a bit too clever and
highlighted and shadowed each small panel and it has not turned out well.
There is too much contrast in places, not enough blending etc. so will try some rectification .To be honest, I
don't think much will be visible once the coat is on!
The other photo shows the other Sam with the armour panels undercoated. The panels will be black, probably,
not that you can see them much as the are behind all the cordage that holds them in place.  All of that
(grey in the photo) needs painting in various colours so I am spending time researching Samurai armour.

Can't remember giving you permission to use my knobbly knees as reference!
Lovely work, as usual.

Little & Large
I am struggling with these two.
The heads are just about finished, just a bit of faffing to do.
You can see from the pics that one is significantly larger than the other,
a good 10% I reckon. This applies over the whole lot.  The difference in calf muscles is enormous!
This could well scupper the original plan of doing a small diorama! This is not helping enthusiasm and Plan B may well involve
a shelf somewhere!

Its just a big fellow being bashed by a small fellow - think they will look OK in a diorama.  The faces are excellent :) :) :) :)

Many makers seem to use different rulers?

Some are a nice piece of wood about a yard long, good for whacking awkward club members with.

We used to have some lovely ones in physics, varnished and everything, really nice, oh ,my measuring fetish is starting to show.

Sorry, your probably metric - just over a metre.

Did I mention micrometers?
