To all those venerable posters....

If Red Lancer says it will be okay, it will be okay,....

Not sure what Japanese is 'for okay'....

But in Yorkshire.... 'It'll be alright!!'

Bigkev
I hope my next is always better

I stand corrected, 'It'll be reet' as Haddock points out in his best Yorkshire

I have been progressing Red Sam a bit. The bulk of the body is now all stuck together and
roughly undercoated. The head /helmet is still not fixed. the previous owner had glued the
head into the helmet, which is going to make face painting problematical.
The coat, (Jimbaori), is cast in four pieces. A t this moment I think it is going to be a nightmare!
Again, the previous owner had fixed the arms in place, and I am not sure that was a good idea,
and the prospect of putting his coat onto a fully painted figure is frightening. His head cannot be
in place then as the rear of the helmet will be in the way. Additionally, the RH front  quarter is nowhere
near, have spent 3 hours or so filing, fettling and swearing, so it nearly fits!
Right, here we go with pics!

Hi Red Lancer,
Great stuff.
Attention to detail is great. I'm sure there must be a demonstration due at a future date when we are able to meet again.
I'm going to watch this one, and LEARN!

Looks great, your attention to those small details is excellent.

I have started putting the 2nd figure together.  This one's  coat is cast in only 2 pieces and
definitely can not be fitted with the arms in place! On a trial run the Left arm seemed ok
but the right may foul on the coat, but nothing too serious. The hands are moulded onto the lance,
so the positioning of the arms is critical.
However, this set up appears to be better than a 4 piece coat. I am currently wondering  if I should see if the arms
will come off the other one in order to investigate if the build would be easier.  There is never an instruction sheet with
figures telling you what goes where in what sequence.
The attached (hopefully) photos show it at the current state. The next thing is to sort out some type of base.
No doubt they will come in the usual assortment of sizes, too big and too small. Once that is done they all can progress
independently.

When it comes to bases I have a few offcuts of 9mm MDF which are too short for a ship,
let me know what you need and I'll see if there's anything that will do.
They are in strips about 6ins wide .
Offer applies to anyone that needs some.

The detail of moulding on the figure looks excellent.
