The 3 vehicle pictures really do look realistic, they look great.

Slow progress, the rear had a flat part, presumably for carrying the balloon.
Well that's what it seems like from photos.

Yes, all scratch built apart from the wheels.
Here is the cage that the winch operator sat in for protection.
Built from wire and thread.

Here is the cage door showing the technique used. Wire across the plastic card frame and then thread at right angles.

Hi Zak,
Everything you make from scratch is awe inspiring, you must have come out of the same creative 'pool' as Msea.
Cheers.

I think that is a complement, but not sure about comparisons with Martin.
I don't put a full interior in the cab, as once the windows glazed it is quite difficult to see inside.
So seats, steering wheel, gear stick, hand brake and some form of dash board.
The winch had normal controls, brake, clutch throttle, gears and a handbrake for the second engine fitted behind the cab and the winch cage.
There were two dials on a sort of dashboard. Mostly guesswork.
They do apparently have one of these at Hendon.

I concur with Kevin. I'm amazed at the scratch building you are doing!

Scratch  building is what I enjoy most, At lest all the mistakes are mine.
Here it is ready for painting, although it looks complete, it comes in parts for painting, then a few more details to add.

Brilliant Dave!
You are a scratchbuilder par excellence!

Have you sorted out the barrage ballon 'problem'...
... or is that still a work in progress?

While the balloon winch is in the paint shop(corner of the model room) and the balloon is being coated with varnish(in the garage) - notice I am not allowed in the airing cupboard.
I decided to tackle the Accurate Armour Thompson Fueller.
The photos show
The box art
The box contents
Kit parts laid out for checking.
