Thanks, I mis-read your first post, thought it came with the brass.  I'll hang fire until I've found a decent priced kit that comes with a bit of brass first and see how I get on with it.

Any recommendations?  Nowt too complex mind you!
Try the Trumpeter USS England, a small destroyer with some brass included but non for the main deck.
You would have to get that from say Atlantic models as generic railings.

Haddock.

Now sit down Haddock and take deep breaths - yes I am back on the Varyag - yes its been 3 months BEFORE somebody reminds me.
Remember the small section of brass etch rail that turned 90 degrees before setting hard - well its been removed. After talking with the experts ( well the committee members at the last meeting) decided not to use de-bonder but to cut it off and replace with other brass. As I was cutting, it pinged off and i have now spent a happy 20mins fighting the carpet monster to get it back. This time fastened it in place with tacky wax and then superglued it- hope there is not a reaction between the 2 glues , time will tell.

Ladders added to the outside of the funnels ( one of the worst job at sea was working inside the funnels - its amazing were the soot can get ) also the second photo shows the hatch covers on the steps - only another 7 to make.

You're getting there. As the song goes 'the slower you go, the longer it lasts'.

Great work. I thought you said you didn't have any patience?

Some work done on the bridge - rails and ladders.
Thanks for the comments and Chris when I say I have no patience just think about Haddock - he starts a ship, finishes a ship twice as good as I could ever do and then has the patience to go onto another ship. I can only work on a ship/etch brass for a short while and then have to change onto something else to give what is left of my brain a chance to recover.  So well done Haddock you little hero
