Supports, netting and razor wire finished on the base
Now to give you all a laugh -- I follow the instructions given by Haddock - think three times, measure twice and only cut once - so far so good , did all that for the base and when I had got the wire netting on, looked at the Tu95 plane and thought that will never fit. Correct the base is small -- what Haddock never told me was don't cut the base and then get on with another job in the workshop and when you leave pick up the small bit of wood that is left over from the bit you have cut for the base.
Now for the conspiracy theory - it was Neil who did it - he crept into the workshop and changed the bits of wood so that I now have a part made base that is exactly the correct size for a Sukhoi Su27 Flanker B that has been put together and then put up on the "will finish it at some time" shelf, so I now have 2 plane models on the go -- what will Haddock say ???????????????

There are several words that come to mind, none of them printable here.

I am saying nothing I will leave that up to you lot.
Wheels and landing gear first bit of paint -  silver is the only Vallejo paint that I don't like, I find it very lumpy so still use my old tin of Humbrol.

Body now has a coat of aluminium paint and I am working on the props. Next to go and look for about 30g of weight to put in the nose.

Hi Msea,

Coming along nicely, and quite fast too...…

Don't you sleep?, Hopefully you still find time to eat and drink.

A nice project, as always, your projects stir my loins.....(modelling wise)

Cheers,
Bigkev
I hope my next is always better

I am saying nothing about your loins Kevin - don't wish to be moderated - hohoho
All bits fitted inside, including weights for the nose and now both sections fastened together. Will now go and have a coffee  and try to figure out which bits I have forgotten to do before I fastened the body together - listen for the naughty nautical language when I think about what I have not done.

New larger base and surround made, decided to make it even larger than the one I had made - NOT before you ask, in case I have made a mistake with the measuring BUT to add more scratch built missiles, torpedoes, sonobuoys, bombs etc and more room for the people and signs.

Cut one of the props down to size and a dry run, to make sure my plan of adding them after spray painting would work - and it does.
Looking at the photo, one of the blades needs touching up with dark grey paint - it was OK till I saw it on the photo.

New larger base made with paving blocks  for the plane and some ground tea leaves and grass for the rest of the area. Supports and wire netting made for the two sides.

Now standing on his own 3 wheels - and yes I did remember to put the extra weight in the nose so he stands level.

Start made on making a AS2 Kipper missile for display near the Bear - No solid bar so 3 bits of tube fastened together and then shaped, a hole cut through the body for the wings and tail sections.

Now an AS6 Kingfisher missile - run out of large size plastic tube so this one is all brass. The tube has been squashed to give the correct shape for the body ( before any of you say I have squashed it by mistake ) and wings and tail sections soldered onto this - just the nose to do now -- so it MUST be coffee time.
