Could not decide on a topic for the "Yorkshire" comp. Though about HMS Bounty as she was built in Hull ( take too long to make AND WOULD HAVE TO BUY A MODEL ) looked in the stash and thought about converting a north sea fishing trawler to one my dad had sailed on ( seeing as it would be another ship my dad sailed on, would like to spend more time and effort on it ) last idea was converting HMS Iron Duke into HMS Marlborough who was torpedoed at the battle of Jutland and was sent to the Humber area ( bit of a tenuous link )
Then "she who must be obeyed"  came up with Count Dracula arriving in Whitby from Varna.
So on with the DEMETER. ( I keep calling her the Dementor - must stop watching Harry Potter films
Photo show rough 3D model to get size.
Before you ask Zak the scale is 1/72
And before you all get your copies of the book out -I know that she arrived with only one body strapped to the wheel - its artistic licence - or as I say its only a model and its for FUN.

Seriously weird as usual.

With large white hound, boxes of earth and the lifeless Captain lashed to the wheel no doubt?

MSea

Thank you Zak I will take that as a compliment.

I'm REALLY looking forward to this one - full of Yorkshire 'bite'... wonderful choice! The Count would be impressed. (Thinks: I wonder how many in the club have actually read the book?)

zak

I read it many years ago.

The 4 sections of the hull made - next fasten them together and make smooth - well thats the plan.

Roger

I picked the book up at Manchester airport a couple of years ago.  Well written and a good story, but a little overlong.
Looking forward to this build.
