So, all humour aside, I have the locomotive finished I think (unless you lot have any constructive critic and suggestions) So see what you think, as for me it is on with the refueler diorama. It was an interesting aside.

zak

It was certainly an ungainly machine - something a bit different, nice to see.

Interesting, perhaps we all should do something completely different once in a while.

Hi Kiteman,
A very nice distraction build. Looks fine to me.....................

As Haddock says perhaps 'venturing' into something different isn't a bad thing sometimes.
Well done 'Mon Ami'
Cheers,
Bigkev
I hope my next is always better

I am doing my bit - the N.S.Savannah is pristine with NO muck or rust !!!!!

So, on with the next component for the refueler diorama, here the build so far:

...and here the photos that I forgot to upload (we are all getting older!)

So, a bit more done on this little gem. A splash of first colour to give some idea of how it will look. So far so good, a good little kit that is enjoyable to put together.

Kiteman

So, got it all together with a splash of colour and decals on. Time to dirty it up a bit. See what you think of the completed thing without weathering. More to come.

Kiteman

....und dirty....

Thank you.
The diorama goes on. Now that I have the Hurricane almost finished with a couple of support vehicles to boot. I have made a small start on the personel (and dogs) that will be busying up the scene. I have roughly positioned most of what is going on the base to give me (and you) some idea of where I am heading. There is still lots to do with the addition of hoses, the roughing up of the ground, mud, puddles and such.
Here are a couple of piccies of the work so far and the direction I am going. All based on Biggin Hill 1940.

Should look great when finished.

So as another aside to the Hurricane Diorama (the last aside was the Trevithicks Locomotive) I am chucking together this Revell Bentley 4,5Litre Blower from 1930 in 1:24 Scale. This is an old Heller kit flogged by Revell and it fits where it touches. I got it as a thank you present from a friend so I can`t complain. I am also not a car builder but, just like the locomotive, it is a change and as they say a change is as good as a rest. So the progress so far....
By the way, I have just made the giant leap of purchasing an airbrush and compressor. I haven`t got a clue at the moment but like everything else....I will learn, and perhaps I can practice on this Bentley.
