Not so bad once you get started, not keen on the pictures though, might look better with a coat of matt varnish.

Hi Haddock,

Great work mate! I too use anything that fits the bill as a third hand, so 'good on yer' mate!

Great work as usual, can't wait to see it in the flesh.

Bigkev
I hope my next is always better

You lot seem to build stuff at 100 mph, I'm still faffing around with something I started months ago, still, I can see light at the end of the tunnel, long tunnel though.

....and I always imagined warships would be easy, stick èm together and paint them grey. Oh how wrong was I  :-[. Respect on a fine build so far, as I have said before, we learn from one another.

Keep that nose to the grindstone, it obviously pays off.
Another win at a show, well done you engineer.

Foredeck with railings added. Now for a gripe. The etched brass for the rest of the kit is quite nice but now I've got most of them fitted, the rails are a bit of a disappointment. In a lot of instances, the run is incomplete so it needs to be completed by grafting on some generic stuff. Based on the principle that any deck or platform should provide some form of protection to stop the crew falling overboard, there are areas where nothing is provided in the kit, so more generic stuff. Finally, the foredeck is nothing like flat, in fact it rises in a gentle curve from around the missile launchers to the point where the anchor chains disappear into the deck where it levels off almost to the horizontal.
It doesn't need a Ph.D in quantum mechanics to realize that something produced straight can't be bent on it's edge to conform to this shape, fortunately, I have some generic curved rails, sadly, they're not the same pattern as the kit items and Iv'e had to use a mix of both, hopefully, it's not too noticeable.
Any half decent CAD system should have been able to sort this out.
             Rant over.

Acting on instructions, I've kept my nose to the grindstone, here's the result, the after deck surrounded by railings. As usual, the kit items won't fit around the stern area so what you see is generic rails, modified (with surgical precision), pity they're a different pattern to the Trumpeter rails but it does look deliberate.
