Airfix 1:72 Air Sea Rescue Launch
« on: November 21, 2013, 08:11:16 AM »
I attempted a Tony Beesting here.
I tried to model the sea, slightly inshore as the Launch picks up a survivor from a downed aircraft.
Enjoyed building the model and messing about with the sea.
I used DAS modelling clay, paint and varnish.
I found it very difficult to capture the effect of sea and now hold Tony in even higher regard than I did before (Ha, Ha believe what you like!).

A very decent effort regarding getting the right effect for the sea.  I imagine it is not easy to master and will take a lot of practice to get the perfect surface to depict how a modeller wants his maritime diorama to look like, I have seen quite a few in magazines and online over the years to be impressed by the skill of these modellers. Long may they continue.
