Patience grasshopper - I will also have to fasten the rigging down with another method - I could drill holes and use brass tube BUT how would I then get my fingers inside the hull to tie them off 

Should have water lined it!

Wanted a full hull shape to show the tumbelhome - thats my excuse 

Thought you naval chaps were used to putting 'ships in bottles', surely some tying of rigging inside the hull would be easy........

Planks picked out  - next job paint the coal holes and other grey bits and bobs, then the flory wash

Well after a full day out and then sitting leaning forward to paint the planks for tooooooooo long - hip giving me trouble/pain so will NOT be doing any model making today - good job the Liverpool match is on the TV

Coat of chipping fluid and then a coat of rust in the first photo.  Then some rust removed and  a coat of varnish then chipping fluid and coat of verdigris - when dry some of this will also be removed.

Replacing the gun barrels on the six twin 152mm (thats 6 inch for some ) the brass tube is 1mm and the holes for them to fasten into the original plastic is a pain to do, but hey-ho it must be FUN as I am enjoying it

Most bits fastened together, just the top turret section to add when all solid

You know how they say to cut brass tubing without it crushing by rolling it under a blade/saw well.............
