Magach 7C
« on: November 07, 2023, 10:07:48 PM »
I started this 1/35 scale Academy Magach 7C as the 6B is nearing completion.
During the Yom Kippur War the Israelis lost a lot of tanks to Egyptian infantry, these loses were replaced with the older M60 (Magach 7) and M60A1 (Magach 6).
The older M60 still had the M48 turret armed with a 105mm main armament so does look a bit different.

Hi Bob,
That will make an interesting comparison to the 6B. Watching with interest.
Cheers Kevin

Started this build was the turret, I've given it the first coat of paint except for the barrel which received two and a gloss coat, the air recognition white stripe has been fitted, this because when the add on armour is fitted it would be nearly impossible to get to the breach end of the barrel.
Next is the armour and the rest of the bit and pieces then on with the hull.

Hi Bob,
Looks good. Is the kit moulded in different colours, some of the fixings look brown, and the turret shell green
Also, have you painted the interior?
Cheers,
Kevin

Hi Kevin
The kit is moulded in a sandy colour, I?ve had to paint the turret in the body colour because when the extra armour is fitted it would be nearly impossible to get to.  I?ve looked at the internet for the interior colour and went with the paint colour which is part of a Hataka set for Israeli armour.

The finished turret, with the add on armour, except for the 3 machine guns and painting.

Never realised there was so much additional armour on a turret.
Interesting.

Excellent Bob. The backdrop certainly adds to the photo.
