No Zak you know me flutter here flutter there - when I stop enjoying doing a model, just move on and then come back to it when the mood takes me  :P :P :P :P :P
Remember its for FUN not to have lots of finished models that you don't know what to do with. So make diaramas as they take a lot more time to do compaired to just making a plane or tank or ship  ::) ::) ::)

Have put some green oil paint along the waterline and was about to mark the position of the 2 boats and add some Gel between the boats and dock ( the area I would not be able to get after boats fitted) THEN  LOOKED and thought what a clown.
Have not put any form of protection against the dock wall - so looked for old tyres but had none, so have decided to do what I have seen in some small ports in the north of the USA - wood beams hung from the top of the dock by rope.

Four wood sections under construction - top just cut wood, next down gouges and cuts in the wood, next down wire brushed and last one with some wood stain

Gel added to the back section of the water and the wooden protection blocks added to the dock side.

Two boats fastened in place when dry and solid will add some more paste to the waterline , to make the boats sit in the water not sit on top of it.

Coming together now.
Never seen the wooden blocks as protection of the jetty before. But they do look very realistic.
Nice work.
