A coat of Pledge and then a Flory wash of dark dirt - will let it dry for a bit and then remove 70% of it

Looking at images of landing craft that could be converted into gunboats on the web. Made a card mock up to get size and tried in place next to the dock. Before the rivet counters get out the old slide rule and tell me its the wrong size  I KNOW - but its a conversion done in Vietnam so they could have changed anything, also I don't care, it a model for FUN not an accurate museum piece 
Will now have to remove a section of the wood so that it sits down in the water because you can see the base of the boat and it does not want to be at sea level - now how deep shall I cut the hole

The 6 main sections of the hull fastened together - when dry and solid, will clean up and make a start on the deck and the wheelhouse, then the fun begins trying to fill all the holes and get rid of the blemishes
