Two very thin coats of dark sand hand brushed onto the wooden deck - will let it dry and see if it needs another coat and then its on to picking out the individual planks in different colours.  then a wash of dark sand and Flory wash to show the edges between the planks - the joy of ship building.

Five more colours added to the planking - think I will add another different five next time I paint the decks, making a total of lots and lots - yohoho

Planks picked out with 10 different colours and then a thin wash of the base colour over the top to tone them down..
Now painting the parts that are grey and when that is done will give it all a Flory wash that should tone it down some more, as well as picking out the gaps between the planks - that's the theory we shall see how it turns out - yohohoho
