Hi Zak,
Could that be an 'Lindberg' kit. I think it dates from 1958, only a mere year older than me, it's probably wearing better too..
I currently have a Revell 1/72nd version, another from the 50's/60's era, on the 'in-betweenie' shelf.
Look forward to seeing it's bigger brother finished.

Sorry, yes it is the Lindberg kit.
Scalemates has it as first produced earlier than 1958. but then new moulds may have been made.

Rigging next once the transfers set and a coat of varnish has been applied.

Hi Zak,
Looking 'PRETTY' good. Always liked nice vibrant yellow winged subjects.
Look forward to the finished item.

Looking excellent Dave. I agree with Kevin's comments - definitely a bright yellow.

I'm sure I built a 1/72 scale kit of this by Revell long, long ago in my youth!!

The Lindberg kit has rigging wire supplied, but it is rather thick!

I will complete the kit as a trainer with the Canadians.

I may have to make my own transfers.

Revell kit almost complete, rigged, just some light weathering required.

I'm beginning to think that wire looks better than thread!

I am still wondering.
I like the thread in some instances and the wire in others.

Lindberg kit, built straight from the box as an interesting exercise to compare the two.
Obviously the Revell one is better, but for its age the Lindberg is not that bad.
Rigged with wire thinner than that supplied in the kit.
I thought the home made transfer had worked ok, but they seemed to suffer after a coat of matt varnish for some reason.
