Hue 1968
« on: October 17, 2021, 03:18:56 PM »
Next model started for "Playday 4"  Got the Mark Bowden book about the battle for Hue during the Vietnam War, this got me thinking about the model I was going to do a while ago after seeing the drawing about street fighting in Hue in the Campaign series No 4 by James R Arnold.
So it was out with the book and and up in the stash to find the 2 sets of figures that could be used in the model.  Decided to do the section in the back garden with the ARVN troops blasting through a wall, so will now go and make a base and walls from MDF.

Four wall sections made and also the base slotted to give some strength when the walls are glued into the slots. The second photo shows them all fastened together and the last shot has some tea leaves added to the garden areas.

Plaster added to the walls - reading my book on Hue, most of the walls/houses are a pale pastel colour.

Some work done on the two buildings the second one with a flat roof has had some fancy surrounding walls made and the last photo is a start made on some trees to place in the garden and surround.

Coat of yellow green on the plaster on the walls and the bricks picked out on the sections that the plaster has been damaged and removed.
