Hi All,

Well a little more work has been done. I have now got the landing gear attached and painted up. I had a little 'accident' with the nose wheel leg and broke it.
However, it was not all bad news, as I remembered my 'Ryanair 737' had a slight nose down attitude once finished, so I had an opportunity to correct it.
I drilled the leg and undercarriage attachment point and inserted a short length of Brass rod for strength. Then using thick superglue brought it together ensuring it lined up true in the various planes. But I left about a 1.2mm gap between the parts which made the leg longer as required. Once dry I used white PVA to disguise the gap, and when this was dry painted the area to match.
Once done and the wheels attached the aircraft sat nice and level, and I was happy with the result.
I have painted the wing tip navigation lights in clear Red and Green.

To finish I need to add various Ariel's from both the kit, and from scratch. Also the Anti collision beacons need to be added to the fuselage top and bottom. Finally a quick, pin wash to the intake ducts, exhaust outlets.

Hi Zak,

Yes a bit of a glitch when I did post. Realised had not resized pictures, so revisited post and added them, more than likely just after your comment.

Hope you can see them now.

Lovely work Kevin,

are those the actual markings on the real aircraft?  Great sense of humour and a lovely clean job of the finish.  Must have been much harder to achieve than a war weary fighter.  Look forward to seeing it on the table.

Bigkev

Hi guys,

Thanks for your kind comments. The paint job and building this has been a learning curve, but I'm glad its almost there.

Will be finished by weekend!

Excellent finish on the paintwork, is that a runway or a checked tablecloth I see before me?
