I bought this from Mighty Lancer today.
As you know, I model whatever takes my fancy.
I have always liked the smaller German tanks and have modelled a few in the past.
I could not find a Panzer 1 and so decided on this.
This is an up-armoured version of the reconnaissance tank.
It had heavier armour and weighed 18 tons.
22 were produced by MAN between April and December 1942.
7 were issued to the 12th Panzer Division on the Eastern Front.
The tank had a crew of 3.
One was found converted to a recovery vehicle.
First impressions are good, a small etched fret and the parts seem nicely moulded.

I'm not sure yet.

This goes together really well.
Wheels constructed and suspension units fitted to lower hull.
I will leave the wheels loose to paint.

I think we're entering a 'Dark Side' phase. I will be building the Revell SS-100 Gigant and transporter to go with my EMW A9 and have the Takom models of the Krupp Raumer and Vs.Kfz.617 mine clearers on order!!!!

zak

More progress, wheels painted, chassis coming along.

I hope my next is always better

There are quite a few pieces of etched brass to bend and fit.
Photos - I will look at that right hand grill before painting, it seems to be not sitting just right.

This looks like it's a great kit and an interesting build.
