Red Lancer

How did you get on with spraying from top and bottom etc?

MSea

Not good Howard - my fingers playing me up at the time - so brush painted the figures instead of spray and i lost a lot of the effect i was after. Thinking about it , if i had used a lot of thinned down coats of brush painted coats it might have gone better - will try again on another figure.

Decided to try and make one of those old Chesterfield type sofas for Horatius Cocles to rest on.
It was some thick tube material (as show at the last club meeting) with a cross pattern scribed into it, when all the sections  are fastened together, will add a button at each cross section with some PVA and then paint it old brown leather colour.

That's a good idea - if it doesn't work well I can blow it up and just have the bits as a damaged sofa - hohohoho

Seat and arms fastened together and a new thicker back under construction. When all solid will fasten both sections together and then add the buttons and colour it.

Two sections fastened together and a start made on the buttons. The sections at the front are to be cut and added to the front of the arms and sides of the back sections.

Photos show a base coat of German camouflage black brown, then burnt umber stippled on top, then highlights of mahogany brown and then a wash of smoke to unify all the above shades.
