Never seen one of these on a display. A South African helicopter?
I hope my next is always better

Yes it's South African Kevin.

"Is it a total South African design or based on ?"

Indigenous South African design using the power plant and drivetrain from the Oryx, which is itself an indigenous development of the 'classic' Puma and is broadly similar to the Super Puma. As a result it's quite large for an attack helicopter.

'Rooivalk' is the Afrikaans word for kestrel, although it literally translates as 'red falcon'.

Nice kit of an unusual subject, Chris!

Canopy and a few other bits assembled. The canopy being vacform was a bit tricky - it took a few goes.
