I know that this is not strictly model making but I thought that I would share it with you anyway. I knocked this up in summer for my Grandson so that he keeps his hands off my model biplanes. I must say that it gives me great pleasure and brings back fond memories to see him running around the garden with this in his hand looking skyward and letting his imagination run free. (it`s a Fokker D VI by the way)

It is modelling, just not plastic modelling, very nice all the same. On the same theme, here's something cobbled up out of old shoe-boxes and lollipop sticks with help from the grand-daughter,
it's not finished yet but she loves the faces at the windows. She managed of lot of the work herself with a bit of encouragement from me.

Does anyone else have something away from plastic modelling that they have build, perhaps for the grandkids.

I built a first world war army camp out of card, net curtain and other "stuff".  Anything we produce in miniature, out of whatever material, is modelling in my eyes.  Nice to see the DVI finished too.  Bet Lenny loves it!
