Looking good Dave. Get Martin to do the midden  - he's good at rubbish.

Cobbling the yard. DAS clay marked with a round tool, a bit tedious but I think it will look the part when painted and weathered.
There was apparently a muck heap (midden) in the middle of the yard, I may/may not model this.

Hi All,
Airframe now sanded smooth after its Mr. Surfacer primer.
The parts that are natural metal have been given a coat of Tamiya Gloss Black sprayed with Mr. Hobby Self Levelling Thinner. This leaves a nice gloss finish in readiness for the AK Interactive Polished Aluminium/ Dark Aluminium top coats.
The sensor pod was also painted at the same time, the Black being on the reverse of the clear part. The clear part will be polished near the end of the build.
Whilst the airbrush was out, the bombs/missiles/launch rails given an initial coat of Olive Drab and Olive Green.
Some pictures follow:-
Thanks for looking,
Kevin

Thanks Chris,
Well moving on, I have now sorted the fuselage and done a test fit to see how it lines up. The resin cockpit side walls have been test fitted, together with the instrument panel and coaming.
The clear fuselage lights inserts have been sanded down from two pieces of clear sprue and are now awaiting inserting and glueing into into place before cutting to shape and polishing. Also have filled and sanded the Fin/Rudder and elevators where the moulded actuators have been removed. The wingtip tanks have had the glazed fronts attached Green to Starboard, Red to Port. These are now ready to attach to the wings once assembled.
Wings:- these have had a quick blast of Tamiya Gloss Black as a base coat for the Aluminium interiors.
Some pictures of progress to date:-
Thanks for looking,
Kevin

Very Impressive.
When I first read your description, I thought you meant "you didn't know where to put the Bar!"
Will look brilliant when done and finished.

Finished.
The touching-up took a while as did getting all the decals on. I had to cut up lengths of the cheat lines each side where they met the vertical door grab handles.
Overall I'm pleased with the outcome. Now I have to find somewhere to put it.
