Thanks Haddock,

Your sense of loss and compassion is correct. Now is not the time for banter at a time of bereavement and loss.
Geoff will be sadly missed.

General Discussion / Sad News Geoff Proudfoot
« on: January 23, 2015, 09:43:46 PM »
Dear All,

I am very sorry to pass on the sad news that our larger than life club member Geoff Proudfoot, sadly passed away earlier today in hospital after fighting hard in his battle with his Brain Tumour illness.

Geoff was a larger than life character who will be sorely missed by his family and friends. His quick and direct wit was a joy to behold. As his illness progressed Geoff became more unwell, to the point where he was unable to leave home easily.

Our thoughts and best wishes go to Ruth and Dane at this sad time.

if I get any details regarding Geoff's funeral arrangements I will post them here.

Hi All,

Just wanted to share with you the progress with rubbing down. As you can see the Mr Surfacer 500 has been rubbed down using various fine grades of Wet'n'Dry used wet with soap as a lubricant.
Finally finished with some 8000 grade micro mesh cloth again used wet to polish surface. You can see where the area's that needed attention were, and where the 'green stuff' has filled the sink marks.

Nose cone and wings attachment next..........................

Hi Zak,
On schedule so far..........................
Here in my latest post you can see the fuselage has had Mr Surfacer 500 applied to fuselage and tail seams.
Not all this is required but it gives an indication of problems in the join and help make them uniformly corrected.
Also can be seen 'Green Stuff' applied to sink marks present at this stage. Note that I have not used 'White Stuff' at this stage as it is too grainy in texture, and also would be harder to see after rubbing down and filling any area's.

Ah....................

As the song goes ' One drop of rain from your window pane.........................'

At least members thought they were intentional, a future weathering technique?

You don't half put the pressure on yourself, don't you?

Look forward to seeing it in whatever form.

Hi, All,

Decided to get some replacement new decals containing window and door outlines from Draw decals, the same firm who did the 'Kulula Airlines' ones, so I'm sure they will be spot on.

Ordered them from America yesterday, so hopefully they will be here as painting of airframe comes close.
Hope to have this ready for Huddersfield.

Christine leaves me alone when I'm modelling so I am very lucky in that respect, but I do like some kind of back ground noise music/speaking books/ whatever.
If something goes wrong I can turn up the volume. Reasoning is..................
'In space no one can hear you scream, in my model room volume up, no one can hear me blaspheme'

Hi Wizzel,
Looks flaming good mate (pardon pun)

Funny enough I'd even thought at an early stage posing my Concorde taking off on that fateful day with flames belching out on take-off.
This might just be the way to do it, looking how good your 'experiment' is. Would like to see the model when finished, it looks fearsome and realistic.
Very well done mate.

I like it because it smells nice!

As opposed to some of my other modelling solvents and paints.........................

I find it gives a really good smooth glass like finish, and is hard enough to withstand my handling!
