Hi All,
This is the first post of 'Our Show'.
I can confirm that the show is at an advanced stage of planning. Check in here for more details in the coming days, weeks, months ahead for latest news.

Hi Zak,
Correct.
I have now sent all details to placed in the next available issue, and also to be placed on the IPMS website.
In addition I have now put details on the Airfix Tribute Forum and also Britmodeller.
The show is also on the Driffield Showground website and Joe is placing details on Facebook as necessary.
I will continue to add other posts on other sites in the coming days and weeks.

Just an update from my last post regarding our show.
All Trader invitation and booking forms have been sent out. however already had verbal confirmation from some of their attendance, will post who they are, once forms have been returned.
On Club/SIG's I can confirm that the following have requested space

Just an update on progress so far.
The following Clubs/SIGs have now requested display space in addition to those listed before.
Spitfire SIG
IPMS Cleveland
York and District Scale Modelling Society
16mm Narrow Gauge Railway Modellers
Tyneside Independent Modellers
SIG 1/144
As you can see we are well on the way to filling the display space.

Anyway, just to let you know that Avid Reader have again booked tables at the show. Thanks to Justin for his continued support at our show, we all look forward to seeing him and his crew at the show.

Hi All,
Sorry to announce that at the moment we will not be having R/C flying models at the show. The East Coast Yorkshire Flyers have decided not to attend due to a reduction in their membership numbers.
I am actively looking at an alternative display, and will post any news here.

Hi Chaps,
Just to update you on a couple of items for the show.
I am pleased to say that Kinuko Ketley and Tom will be supporting us and attending the show once again with their normal vast collection of second hand models for sale. We look forward to seeing them.
Also I have a large display of a 1/72nd scale Aircraft Carrier and associated aircraft booked into the show. This display is over 5m long and comes on its own purpose built trailer.
The Show Steering Group is having an on site meeting with Driffield Showground on Monday 4th April to discuss the shows progress to date and sort out any issues that need attention from last years show.
So far we are well on track with exhibitors and traders.
Finally 'Show Dragon' gave us a nice mention in Scale Aircraft Modelling this month, so that can only be good for us. Also the IPMS Events page now has the show listed, as promised.

Hi All,
Just a quick update. Tyridium Models have confirmed their attendance again this year, also I am glad to let you know that Coastal Craft Models have also confirmed they are attending. We are grateful of their support and look forward to seeing them at the show.
In addition we have now got a very good selection of clubs/SIG's attending, and are fast approaching capacity. I will be doing a list of attending Clubs/SIG's and posting here in next few days.
To assist with space, we are looking at the possibility of hiring a marquee, which if proceeded with would be situated adjacent to the Pavilion/hard standing area.
Lighting, so far we have not got this sorted, but have a few idea's to improve things and a few contacts to pursue.
I will let you know any news on this in due course.

The hall floor plan has been are drafted and only needs some fine tweaking.

As you can see we are well underway, and thanks go to the other members of the Show Steering Group for their assistance and input. Also big thanks to all the club members who have offered their time freely for the show weekend.
I will be presenting a briefing at the August Club meeting for members prior to show weekend.

Hi All,
Just to let you know progress to date.
All confirmation letters to Club's and SIG's have been sent out.
Traders will be sent out end of this week.
Hall Plan finished.
We are re-looking at the possibility of having a Marquee for the outside exhibits. The Showground have only been able to provide 3 Gazebo's this year as opposed to 8 last year.
This means that the outside display may need to be relocated, to enable it to be fixed in place and tethered down, again the situation is fluid.
ID and food voucher labels will be produced next week for those assisting in the running of the show.
A briefing will take place at the August meeting to bring everyone up to speed on what will be happening over the show weekend.

Hi All,
Well only 2 weeks to go now.
Our club display......................... Still not heard from 11 members regarding wanting to display or not. If I have not heard from you by the 26th August, I will assume that you will NOT be requiring space on club table to display.
Otherwise, things are fully on track.

Hi All,
For those of you who kindly replied to my request about displaying on the club stand at 'Our Show' I have now replied and indicated you will all have about 2ft x 2ft of space to display. (though this is subject to some discretion as some members have indicated that they require less than this).

Hi All,
The Marquee is being erected on Friday teatime, and Andy is coming down at same time to set the spot lights in the Pavilion to where we require them.
I will have the keys for the showground gates and Rix Pavilion for then.
Not long to go now.......................

Hi All,
Just to update you on the weather prospects for the show.
At the moment the forecast is mainly dry throughout the day, with a chance of a little light rain around 3.00pm.
Wind speed about 10mph (need to watch this), temperature about 19 degrees.
At moment we need wind to drop, and rain to go away or come after we've packed up.

I would recommend that folk bring a change of clothes (including a couple of pairs of socks - you need to keep your feet dry!) and a towel with them anyway to both the set up and the show day itself. I've done this every year so far but fortunately not needed it. As my Gran used to say, "it's better to have it and not need it."

I know Kevin is evil and uses the lash especially on set up day - but I didn't think we were back to World War One style and all getting trench foot !!!!!!!

Hi All,
Further update.
Forecast is now a mix of Sunshine and Rain Showers, with a little bit of wind, which does not affect the inside stuff but does the outside things.
Hoping for a quiet Sunny day and little or no wind.
Thanks to you for your comments.
However, I will not be bringing the lash! just sharpening up my tongue.
Wizzel's suggestion for suitable dry clothing, footwear and some spares is a very valid one.
Don't think any of us will get Trench Foot in a couple of days, but I don't want to be around when you take off your wellies!
Only 4 more sleepies, or is that sleepless nights............

Hi All,
Well the weather forecast is certainly not playing ball at moment.
Latest update is light Rain/Rain for most of day from Saturday night to end of day Sunday. Wind speed about 12mph in SSE direction.
Looks like we will need some Brolly's for car parking duties!
However all can change as I know for my Daughters Wedding, a gloomy forecast was replaced by brilliant sunshine and no wind at the time of the event and reception, so who knows.................

Now forecast sunny morning, sun/cloudy pm, with wind speed of about 15mph.
Looking better, though still need less wind.
Also the outside 1/72 Aircraft Carrier Exhibit has cancelled due to ill health, sorry.
